Join Amesbury Recreation for another exciting session of after school fun! We will continue to explore the Camp Kent grounds and the Powow River Conservation Area. There are lots of migrant bird species that have arrived, as well as many other refreshing signs of spring that we can’t wait to share with you! As we gear up for summer camp and more time spent outside, we will be learning about all of the animals and plants in this area. We are surrounded by wetlands that are home to a wide range of biodiversity. During our five weeks, we will become familiar with all kinds of amphibians, birds, mammals, and plant life. Let’s work together to rebuild our forts and shelters, while creating sculptures and fairy houses. As always, we will play our favorite games, while exploring using all of our senses. 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Camp Kent Family Events - Garden Opening Celebration
*Parking at Battis Farm (76 South Hampton RD, Amesbury, MA)  Join us as we celebrate the first plantings in our brand new community garden. This year, Camp Kent has partnered with The Regenerative School, to expand our butterfly garden and create healthy, farmable land. Our hope is to yield enough of a harvest to be able to donate to Our Neighbors Table, Amesbury’s local food pantry. We look forward to supporting community and providing educational experiences for campers, as well as people of all ages. This winter has been full of seedling propagation and planning our dream garden of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. Learn about how it’s done, and what you can do to create more habitat for wildlife in your own backyard. After we get our hands in the dirt, we will relax with complimentary tea, snacks and crafts. There will be fun activities for young children and planting opportunities for adults. We will send you home with a house grown seedling as a token of our appreciation. We look forward to hosting you at Camp Kent Nature Center and the Regenerative Community Garden this summer!Parents should stay with children for the duration of the program.
