Adult Kayak Program
Let's paddle through Amesbury! Start at our beloved Lake Gardner Beach and travel around the lake or go for a scenic paddle ride up the beautiful Powwow River and see local turtles and birds. If it is warm enough, you can go swimming at Lake Gardner or Camp Kent. Kayaking involves all skill levels. You will meet at Lake Gardner parking lot, 79 High St., Amesbury. Program will run four Sundays: September 14, 21, 28 and October 5. Program hours will be 8:00-10:00 am.
Adult SUP Program (Stand Up Paddle)
Discover the beauty of Lake Gardner while learning the skills and techniques of stand-up-paddle boarding in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This program is designed for adults of all ability levels- whether you are brand new to paddle boarding or looking to improve your balance, endurance, and paddling technique. No prior paddle boarding experience necessary. By the end of the program, participants will feel comfortable and confident on the water, gain a great workout, and experience paddle boarding as both a recreational activity and away to connect with nature. Boards, paddles and safety equipment provided. Program will run four Sundays: September 14, 21, 28 and October 5. Program hours will be 11:00-1:00 pm
Program Highlights:
- Introduction to SUP Basics- proper stance, balance, and paddling form
- Skill Development- turns, stopping, and navigating different water conditions
- Fitness on the Water- build core strength, balance, and endurance through paddling
- Guided Exploration- enjoy scenic group paddles across Lake Gardner with coaching along the way
