Fantasy Football
Draft, strategize, and compete with SNL Sports' Fantasy Football After School Program! Step onto the field of strategy and fun with our Fantasy Football Club! This afterschool program introduces students to the exciting world of fantasy sports, where they will learn how to draft players, track stats, manage a team, and compete in a friendly fantasy football league with their peers.
Each week, students will check scores, make lineup changes, and dive into the basics of football strategy and sportsmanship. Along the way, they will sharpen skills in math, data tracking, decision-making, and teamwork- all while having a blast. The program wraps up with a season celebration where league champions are crowned!
Program highlights include:
Learn the basics of fantasy football and team management, track player stats and performance week to week, build strategy, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, work in teams and encourage positive competition, end of season awards.

Futsal
Join us for an exciting after school futsal program designed specifically for middle school students! Futsal is a fast-paced, indoor version of soccer played on a smaller court with fewer players. This high-energy environment helps students sharpen their skills, improve decision-making, and stay active in a fun, team-oriented setting. Futsal naturally develops quick footwork, close ball control, and creative passing, making it an excellent way to build overall soccer IQ and confidence on the ball. Because the game emphasizes constant movement and frequent touches, every player is more involved—making it perfect for all skill levels. Whether your child is a seasoned soccer player or just wants to stay active and try something new, this program is a great way to stay fit, make friends, and enjoy the game in a supportive and structured environment.

Karate
Join Kaizen Dojo for a Karate After School Program. Karate is a great way for kids to have fun while exercising and is also incredibly effective at helping develop focus and discipline. Through a combination of traditional martial arts practices, as well as a variety of training drills, our kids karate program is geared towards learning practical self-defense in a safe and fun environment.
Shaolin Kempo Karate combines the linear explosiveness of traditional karate, the five animals of Shaolin Kung Fu, and the core effectiveness of kempo. As a style it is a comprehensive blend of fast and powerful strikes, highly effective joint manipulations, sweeps, and weapons defenses.
Students will learn: Basic karate principles, fast punches, fun kicks, defense against grabs, how to break a board!
At the end of the course, each student will get to break a real wood board, as well as earn their yellow belt. All students that complete the session will also receive a certificate of promotion, as well as a voucher for a week of group classes at Kaizen Martial Arts.

Baking/Cooking
Holiday Baking with Fran: Have fun while you prepare treats to enjoy with your family and friends. Learn basic kitchen safety and techniques in a cooperative environment. In this four-week session, we’ll be preparing: different cookies, pastry turnovers, and muffins. Each student is requested to bring a container for taking home baked goods. Treats will be nut free; however, will include gluten.
Fran Kaplan is a former Home Economics teacher with years of experience who has also taught youth cooking classes for the Newburyport Recreation Department. Please note, this class runs until 3:45pm.

All Star Sports (wiffle, flag, dodgeball)
Get active, build skills, play as a team with SNL's All Star Sports! Ready set go! Our afterschool sports program is the perfect way for kids to burn energy, learn new skills, and have a blast with friends after school day ends. Each week, students will be introduced to a variety of sports and active games designed to promote teamwork, coordination, and a love of physical activity.
Program highlights include: Intro to team sports and basic skills, games that build agility, coordination, and teamwork, fun drills, challenges, and friendly competition, end-of-session game day celebration or showcase, focus on confidence, sportsmanship, and movement.
