Winter 1 After School AdventuresCamp Kent Nature CenterMeet @ Battis Farm (76 S Hampton Rd.)Tuesday’s January 13th-February 24th (no program Feb. 17) from 4-6 PM*Please note, program dates have changed*Grades 1-5Join us for six weeks of adventures throughout the trails at Battis Farm, Powow Conservation Area and Camp Kent Nature Center. Explore Lake Gardner's beautiful shoreline, as well as the forested trails and plentiful wildlife all around. This time of year, we will be celebrating the light coming back slowly but surely, which will allow for more activities and fun! We will create art in nature, with examples told through storytelling and nature themed books. Lets collect a variety of materials to sculpt nature mandalas, fairy houses, shelters, and so much more. We will study maps and our surrounding environment to create our own treasure maps and stories. Learn how to use tools like magnifying glasses, binoculars, focus tables and science guides. As always, we will enjoy the low ropes course, playing in the pines, and at least one fire celebration with marshmallow roasting! Looking forward to a wonderful time outside, learning about all the plants and animals that also call this place home!

Full Snow Moon Hike Family EventSunday, February 1st from 3-6 PM$10 per family- Please register just one person per familyMeet @ Battis Farms (76 S Hampton Rd. Amesbury, MA) Join Amesbury Recreation for an afternoon hike around Battis Farms and Camp Kent Nature Center. The full moon is said to be rising right around 5:00 PM, so we will have the opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moon glow! Did you know that the Full Snow Moon is known for the abundance of snow typically falling this time of year? We are hoping to be able to dust off our snowshoes and even get some wildlife tracking in at this event! Whatever the weather, we will enjoy a beautiful view as the sun sets behind the trees up Powow River. As always, there will be marshmallow roasting, warm beverages and a cozy fire to gather around the beautiful pine trees at Camp Kent. We hope to see you soon! Stay tuned for any last minute details regarding what to bring in the interest of conditions!
