Amesbury Recreation’s Counselor in Training(CIT) Program is a two week program offered to high school students (Grades 9-12) for the purpose of providing participants with valuable leadership skills and self-confidence while acquiring community service hours that can be used toward their graduation. In addition to the two weeks, participants will receive 8 hours of training and a CIT t-shirt. CIT’s are expected to participate for 2 consecutive weeks. If performance exceeds our expectations, you may be invited to participate additional weeks for added service hours, at no additional cost. *Mandatory CIT training will occur during the week of 6/23. More information will be announced closer to the start of the program.

LIT is a challenging and rewarding experience. Your days as an LIT will be spent with a wide array of activities. It is important to understand that being an LIT is a responsibility. Be sure that you are willing and prepared to meet the challenges presented by this position. LIT's should be highly motivated and be willing to venture outside the box, creativity will only make the leadership experience better for the applicant. T-shirt included.LIT's will be assigned to either the Parks Program or the Tadpole program for 1 week. After 1 week, they may be asked to work more after evaluation.

We are offering a new opportunity on Thursday evenings, hoping to invite a different crowd to our favorite place to enjoy time in nature. Experience a peaceful night on the water with like minded individuals, looking for a chance to relax before the weekend begins. At Camp Kent Nature Center we have parking available, outdoor bathrooms, and lake access. Participants will have the option between paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and even sailboats! We will welcome crispy fall weather with open arms, and look forward to the beautiful foliage and shorter days ahead. Sign up today!*A special note for a 10 MPH speed limit due to the sensitive wildlife and wetland habitats alongside the gravel driveway.
