4:00 PM - 6:00 PM    Camp Kent After School Program - After School Adventures (Grades 2-5)
Preschool-Grade 2Mondays 11/10-12/15 from 4pm-6pm - Please note this program has been cancelledJoin us for six weeks of adventures throughout the trails at Battis Farm, Powow Conservation Area and Camp Kent Nature Center. Explore Lake Gardner's beautiful shoreline, as well as the forested trails and plentiful wildlife all around. We will create art in nature, with examples told through storytelling and nature themed books. Lets collect a variety of materials to sculpt nature mandalas, fairy houses, shelters, and so much more. We will study maps and our surrounding environment to create our own treasure maps and stories. Learn how to use tools like magnifying glasses, binoculars, focus tables and science guides. We will document our learning in nature journals to take home at the end of the session, while leaving our marks in the pines and on the lakeshore. Looking forward to a wonderful time outside, learning about all the plants and animals that also call this place home! Activities may include: Leaf rubbing, Nature Journals, Map making, Fairy homes, Fort building, Nature Mandalas, Low elements rope course, Climbing wall. Grades 2-5 Wednesdays 11/12-12/17 from 4pm-6pm(Please note: No program will run on Wednesday 11/26. We will create art by sculpting nature mandalas, building fairy houses, making shelters, doing leaf rubbings, and recording in our nature journals. DIY Holiday Centerpieces Sunday, November 23rd- 12pm-3pmCamp Kent Nature Center- $20 per familyPlease register 1 person per family and list the number of people in your group.*Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.  Join us at Camp Kent for a DIY holiday centerpiece event! We will be collecting materials from our gardens and the forest, as we prepare for the festivities to come. Each family will receive a beautiful glass jar, as well as a chopped and stained, wooden disk to accent the arrangement. There will be a variety of greens, birch bark pieces, holly berries, pine clippings, ornamental grasses and dried flowers. Everyone will get the chance to be creative with the materials provided, but also explore the area for special odds and ends that may spark your interest. Come prepared to get creative, connect with local families, and take in the beauty all around you! *Parking at Battis Farm (76 South Hampton RD, Amesbury, MA)
